Research
We study how liquid markets trend and turn that behaviour into explicit rules — when to enter, how much to hold, when to leave.
Systematic · US markets · US dollars
A99 Horizon (九优量化) runs systematic trend-following strategies in US-listed markets, in US dollars. Written rules decide when to hold and how much, checked once every trading day — no forecasts, no hunches.
Clients see their own account — positions and P&L — read-only, updated after each US close. Requests are usually approved within one business day.

Hypothetical: today's rules applied to past prices, with rules and assets chosen recently, with hindsight — not the results of any real account. Uses leverage (up to 2× margin and a 3× leveraged fund). After estimated trading costs and interest, before any profit share or advisory fees. Live trading at Interactive Brokers began in May 2026. Past and simulated results do not predict future results. Data through Oct 30, 2026.
Interest is paid on margin and earned on cash. About three-quarters of the account is set aside for the strategies and the rest is held back as a buffer that also backs the margin the positions use. One strategy trades a bitcoin ETF (listed January 2024); the backtest models it with the bitcoin price for the whole period. CAGR = growth per year; Sharpe over 3-month T-bills; max drawdown = the largest fall from a previous high. Registered users see every assumption and the year-by-year results — request an account.
Rules, not opinions
Every trade comes from written, tested rules.
Daily, not intraday
Signals use daily price bars, not intraday noise.
Tested across market periods
A rule must hold up across many periods, not just one.
Reconciled to the broker
Live results are checked against real fills and fees.
— 01 · What we do
We research rules that capture persistent market trends, test them across many market periods, and run them live — automatically, every trading day.

We study how liquid markets trend and turn that behaviour into explicit rules — when to enter, how much to hold, when to leave.
02
Live systems run on a fixed schedule, place orders through established brokers and reconcile every fill.
03
The same system runs in accounts held in each client's own name, followed through a private, read-only portal.
— 02 · How the algorithm works
Many markets trend for long stretches. Our systems aim to hold during the strong stretches and step aside for the rest. Losses still happen: in testing, single strategies have fallen more than 50% from a high; the combined portfolio's falls were smaller, but real.
Step 1
Once a day the system measures momentum and trend. Strong, persistent moves qualify; choppy noise does not.
Step 2
Positions shrink when a market turns volatile and grow when it calms, so each one carries a similar amount of risk.
Step 3
Exits are decided by rule — a confirmed trend break or, where a strategy uses one, a stop. On a price gap, a stop can fill well below its level.
Step 4
When nothing qualifies, capital waits. Being out of the market is a position too — often the most important one.
— 03 · Risk first
A strategy only compounds if it is still standing after the bad years. That is why the limits are part of the system itself, not an afterthought.

Multi-period walk-forward tests — one good backtest is treated as noise.

Review
Every change to a live system is reviewed and tested before it touches capital.

Live, small
Real capital at test size, measured on real fills with commissions and slippage, reconciled daily.

Changes to the capital a strategy trades are decided in writing and reviewed before they take effect.
